Here's a picture of Eric, a lovely creature who unfortunately needed a farm instead of a terraced house, shortly after he'd had his testicles removed:

How long did his lampshade last?

Our dog managed about a day and a half before wrecking his. It took him a full day to figure out how to eat from his dog bowl while wearing it...

No dog for me, I'm afraid, and no picture to offer, but I saw the cutest puppy the other day, and asked what breed he was. Turned out he was a pug/King Charles spaniel cross - he had just the right parts from each - smooth coat, but with spaniel colouring, with enough muzzle not to look too much like a pug, but the big pug eyes and floppy ears. Utterly adorable.

I am owned by two cats, and I am not a great fan of dogs. I sometimes go for a walk on the Malvern Hills, where there are lots of dogs!

The dogs I encounter there are usually the friendly type, sometimes keen to say "hello" but not the jumpy barky aggressive sort. My niece has a gorgeous Border Terrier, so well behaved, and a lovely brown colour a bit like a teddy bear.

Heh! Maybe you don't need that book Smeggy old chum. Maybe you just need to get the hip action right, pan with the dog and click. Don't wait for him to dash through the viewfinder :becool:

I've met a number of people who are scared of dogs when out with mine. I'll call the dogs to heel and lay them down then invite the people to come and meet them. Some decline, but others have come to meet my dogs then gone on their way with a smile on their faces.

I suspect (and have nothing to back this up) that many people are scared of dogs due to never meeting dogs/media reporting as opposed to bad experiences.

That's really nice of you. My 6 year old is scared which is a problem on alot of cycle paths. Whilst riding she nearly leaps into bushes. Cries of "He won't hurt you" as dogs run up to her do not help and frankly make me very angry.

Just looked them up, they look lovely, pugaliers!

He was cuter even than the ones Google images throws up - a less flat snout, and brown and white colouring, like a spaniel. Apparently all his siblings looked more or less just like pugs.

Met a lovely dog on Monday night too, at the house of a friend - a bitzer, with strong leanings towards corgi, only with longer legs. A very lovely temperament, and obedient, he lay on the sofa between us as we knitted...

That's a shame, but it's the owners not the dogs at fault.

Shame she can't meet my old boy as he's so calm (excuse for another pic), and the one I invite them to meet even though he's the biggest.

You may (or may not) like to introduce her to a PAT dog if you can find one to try and get her over her fear of dogs. There's someone on here with one but can't remember his name who may be able to give more details. (There again you might want to tell me to bog off!)
