I am of the left, but I do not find Osborne a thoroughly awful or incompetent MP or Chancellor.

He is true to his beliefs and his class, which are not my beliefs or class. I wish they were, but they are not.

I find the absence of hattery a positive image. It would have been too easy to put helmets on their heads and send out a message. Good for them.

But yes... they do both look silly on bicycles.

Would we have had bicycling shots of Callaghan/Healey or Thatcher/Lawson foist upon us? One has to be grateful that we did not.

And on the bike front... DC's looks OK> I imagine it's his late-childhood/student 'racer'. When GWB was President, he was photographed riding a brand new Trek. The object of comparison may weaken the point, but DC comes out on top of GWB for not being a marketing puppet as well as a PR one.
