Another Fake WWII bike, this time spotted in person at Lytham 1940s weekend. It's a 1970s Raleigh Superbe with a bit of black paint covering up the chrome. I particularly like that there was no attempt to remove the 70s decals or pletcher rack.

He wants £350. I bought a real 1940s Raleigh Superbe a few months ago for £47.50.

they are VINTAGE rusty bikes and parts

which triples the price
or the optimism anyway

Guess they weren't fully jigged up yet at the workshop, so to do the main tube they put the pipe in a vice and walloped it to get a bend

I just don't understand why someone would pay more for a product just because it's a bit rare - but then i've never understood the appeal of antiques either. I'm a heathen?

'interesting' though it is from a historical point of view, a recent Brompton is a lot better, and a lot cheaper than the mk1.
