Well I'm getting a 3 speed Pashley Guv'nor which is not exactly the most pannier friendly bike. Therefore, for my longer trips, I shall be buying a Saddle bag!

I was surprised to find that Carridace even sell 25 litre saddle bags, although would like to know whether this is a good idea especially regarding weight, aerodynamics, and generally getting in the way.

If anyone has experiences of larger than usual Saddle-bags, I would appreciate your advice.

a green and honey nelson longflap would look lovely and probably nicely sets off a chap's tweeds

See how it sits before investing in the supports &c, you may be surprised.

Also a purchase worth making in the actual, rather than the virtual - the space inside is quite hard to visualise from the litre sizes given by Carradice.
