I could well be pushing the importance of good use of grammar to a bizarre conclusion, but (at least for me) being able to write (and speak) correctly is as important as wearing clothes that hide my genitals in public.

Don't mean I get it right all the time though.

I always check the spelling and punctuation of everything I type, and proof read it as well. That is why why I hardly ever make mistakes.

ODE TO SPELL CHECKERS

I recently had to endure a safety induction by the National Grid. The bloke lecturing us used the late Steve Irwin as an example of someone who took too many risks etc. Except that in his nice little slide show, he spelt it Urwin, not Irwin. I was too polite to point it out.

Proper names are often spelling traps (mine is), but mis-spellings are not always grammar mistakes.

Isn't fora the plural of forum?

This was discussed in the House of Lords in 2000.
Taken from Hansard.
Lord Beaumont of Whitley said:
' I urge the Minister to pay no attention to the suggestion of the noble Viscount, Lord Bledisloe. We are not talking about market places in the middle of roman towns; we are talking about the English word "forum", the plural of which is "forums". The noble Earl, Lord Caithness, quite rightly used that word. I hope that he will continue to use it in spite of the fact that he seemed to be giving way to some rather intellectual blackmail which was of no interest.'
Hansard goes on to report Lord Greaves saying ' I stand shoulder to shoulder with the noble Earl and the noble Lord, Lord Beaumont, in believing that the English word is forums, despite the fact that the amendment states otherwise.......'

Chrome has a built-in spellchecker.
I might be able to unnerstand wot peeple sed if they cant spell innit.
But if someone's opinion is so unimportant that they can't be bothered to spell and punctuate it, then I can't be bothered trying to decipher it.
That's a lie, I have a chrome plated pen and still write the odd spelling mistake.

Seriously though, some people are just too pedantic

With all the talk of punctuation and spelling has nobody pointed out that Capitalisation is spelt incorrectly in the original post?

And why does the forum correct spellings to American English rather than UK English?
