It works driving too - cruising the empty country roads with hood down and the lights off.

When I'm camping and wandering around the campsite at night time I always do the same. As you say if you use a torch everything not illuminated by it seems pitch black, whereas without a torch you can see much better all around you. When I was a scout we were discouraged from using torches at night on the grounds that you can only see what the torch is pointing at, whereas if you wait for your eyes to adjust to whatever light there is, you can see everything. This is on night walks and the like, mind...not on two wheels.
Yeah, I guess if two people have the same idea travelling in opposing directions on the same road it could be quite a slapstick scenario.
Errrr ..... Why?I once tried riding with my eyes closed, but it only lasted for 3 seconds before I ended up with a mouthful of gravel.

I was young, and wondered where I'd get to if I shut my eyes and count to 10. I still don't know the answer.Errrr ..... Why?![]()
Older and wiser nowI was young, and wondered where I'd get to if I shut my eyes and count to 10. I still don't know the answer.
