I punctured again on the way home last Wednesday, in the middle of a rain storm. I was out of spare tubes and out of patches, having given the last one to a kid who had a puncture earlier in the week. Thankfully, I was only a 10 minute walk from home.

I just finished putting durano+ tyres on. No punctures yet!

You hope, I've had a Durano plus puncture on me along with a Marathon plus. However it was a nail and a piece of glass the size of a 5p piece that done the damage respectively.

On a wider note it is time to change over to winter tyres, having a bit of foresight and taking a very slight speed penalty in going from the One to Durano Pluses I'm hoping for a puncture free winter.

Here's a picture of a nail embedded in a Durano Plus, it didn't result in a puncture. That's a big nail, less than half of it is visible.

Durano Plus' are great tyres. Good puncture protection, fast rolling and grippy. However not so great for those of use that do high mileages. They do wear out very quickly. But that's the payoff I suppose of having such a good tyre.

I have since gone back to running Spesh Armadillo's on my commute as they last a full season rather then half that the Durano's do.

Carry a spare tube and also , keep an additional spare in your drawer at work. Tubes are cheap.
I prefer to repair my inner tubes at home where it is warm, dry and light

My Armadillo's punctured for fun! I happened to mention this whilst looking for alternatives in an LBS and, despite the fact I hadn't bought them from their, were more than happy to take them and send them to Specialized for inspection.

They found no problem with them and said I must just have been 'unlucky' but send me new replacements anyway. I never fitted the replacements and traded these against a pair of GP4 seasons which I've ran in all weather since without issue.

I seem to have had a puncture every time I go out for the last two weeks. Rainy weather and hedge-cutting time is a bad combination. I still prefer light tyres and punctures to spoiling the ride.

Strange isn't it. I have had very few punctures using them over the past 6 or 7 years. Can count the number of punctures on one hand.
But then again I do look after them. Checking the tyres before every ride to see if anything is stuck in the grooves/rubber and dig it out.

I used to use Contis before, endless punctures.

I've been riding Scwalbe Lugano tyres for the last two years and not had a puncture (although it is difficult to get a puncture when its sat in the garage for most of the time lol)
