I have had a few evening free this week and spend my time putting the Massi together. All the components were purchased from e-bay. I only purchased items if they were at a price that was beyond cheap. The Spec is as follows

Columbus tubing
Carbon forks
Shimano Tiagra front and rear mech
Shimano Tiagra leavers
Shimano Ultegra Chainset and chain
Shimano ultegra Bottom Bracket
Itm Bars 3mm Fi.zi.k grip black classic
Vitoria rubino tyres red
Shimano wh550 road race front wheel
Shimano wh500 rear wheel
Tiagra rear cassette 28
Jagwire Red cable set
Sella italia Seat
FSA hedset bearings (need to be changed currently buying from ebay)

My other bike I have already completed but I am very pleased with it so here is the spec in full.

Colnago VIP 200
Columbus Tubing and carbon forks
Full Shimano Tiagra Groupset
Shimano Tiagra hollotech 2 bb and chainset
Shimano RS11 Wheels
Tiagra Rear Cassette 32
Fi.zi.k grip white classic
vittoria rubino tyres blue
Sella Itallia seat

The Colnago is the bike I am going to use as my best bike only take out in nice weather and for cycling events. the Massi is going to be used as my every day rider. my trip to work is only 3 miles if I go the long way but I will use it 3 or 4 times a week for recreational rides.

The Massi is a lovely bike but I do plan to add a carbon bike to my collection and also some sort of Bianchi so if I get a sensible offer I will consider selling it but it will be a sad day if I do

Both lovely looking bikes, I had a real drool over those pictures. But surely it would have been worth the extra few quid to get rid of those ugly Tiagra washing lines?

I like the tiagra stuff. it works well. I admit that ultegra and dura ace is much better and I like campag stuff too but for the price it is very good equipment. I am slowly buying dura ace components so I will upgrade the Colnago.

also I apologise about the horrible colour walls and the marks on the wall. I have recently moved into a new house and I thought it was more sensible to play with my bikes than decorate lol:biggrin:

I am snobby about my cables as well!

How much did you spend on your supper cheap eBay bike? Im not patient enough to wait for bargains and usually cave in and spend too much!

Just a word to the wise Albert Masi who made bikes for the likes of Jacques Anquitil has only one 'S' in his name the name on your bike has :sad:two

Shopping around and taking your time you can build up a bike for a lot less than buying a complete one off the shelf. There are nearly always online retailers shifting something or other at well below retail or even cost price.

I find that bidding on items that end in the early hours because less people stay up to bid at the last minute

This is true however there seems to be two brands masi and massi. The difference I don't know and to be honest I couldn't care less. The bike is light strong rides great and looks great. My passion is with Colnago but as a daily bike the bike Masi is superb

I don't want to say how much but it cost less than a basic Halfords special

I set myself a target of £450 on my current build. I'm already at that and need to spend another £100.... but iv sold a load of stuff for around £150 so I'm technicaly below budget.... sort of...
