after the blazing heat of last week's travels, decided i needed a couple more lightweight trouser choices, used up many harrods points in giorgio armani... white mulberry silk ones to match a jacket, a beige flax pair, and a superb sheer silk t-shirt they just got in...

I'm going to wear either my navy or my beige linen suit later today, or maybe my striped blazer with some summer flannel trousers. 🤔 I'm also intending wearing one of my Panama hats and either my burgundy/purple(ish) loafers, or my light brown ones, or my royal blue ones. I know we are swimming against a tide of black polyester, crocs and flip flops, but one must make an effort! 🧐

I decided on my Cordings beige lined suit, without the waistcoat as it was very warm, 'tobacco' Panama hat, those royal blue loafers and of course a shirt and tie, plus tie pin and cufflinks. I received four compliments for my ensemble, unusually all from men. 🧐

I find that I mostly get compliments from men not only my outfit but my waxed moustache and beard. However I did get praise from our friend Jane on my above outfit although she wasn’t keen on my Loake navy brogues.

Do any you gentlemen have a hand held steam crease remover and if so which one. Or do you get the valet to press your linen suits.

I either hang the jacket in the bathroom when showering and /or waft it with the steam iron when ironing the troos.

I’ve read Good housekeeping, the Telegraph and the Independents best steam crease removers which don’t mention any of those in the NYT reviews. Russell Hobbs was the best in 2 of them.
I’m just wary that we get one and it’s another electrical device that ends up in the back of a cupboard.

When I was working away a lot I'd hang my crumpled-from-travelling shirts up in the bathroom and they'd usually recover enough so you didn't need to iron them again. Trouble is, due to thieving lower-class customers, a lot of hotels have those captive coat hangers where the hooky bit stays in the wardrobe. I'd then have to contrive a way of tying the hangers to the shower rail.
