with the combination of mrs ck illness and the stress of paying for the roof repair yesterday leaving me no cash for the month i couldnt sleep last night so i will have to leave the challange .

Bonus 100 in Feb.
My club has been asked to put together a ride to celebrate 150th anniversary of the Settle-Carlisle railway line, visiting all the stations.
The club will be doing it Carlisle to Settle at the beginning of May (and linked to Dementia charity), but a couple of us checked out most of the route. Had to miss the best bit - Coal Road between Dent and Garsdale stations (landslip repairs in Dentdale still not finished), but nice route all the same. Apart from a few hundred metres at Kirkby on the trunk road, it's all quite roads.

You didn't consider popping over the Coal Road from Garsdale to Dent Station, turning around and going back and round to Ribblehead via Newby Head then? I can't see anything wrong with that ....

I’m glad you didn’t suggest that to my riding buddy, who would have dragged me up there.
Even without the Coal Road, I’m impressed I managed 2000m of climbing on a route following the railway line.

A beautiful day for cycling. Started cold at about 6 degrees and warmed up to a cool 13. Beautiful crisp day with blue skies.
Weather aside, that was tough. I've not been on the bike much in past month. I've been on holiday and other stuff. I really, really struggled with the last 20km. I also rather foolishly passed up an opportunity to refill my bottles so I was thirsty too. I ended up stopping every time I saw a bench for a rest. I used to do that in the latter part of 200k audaxes but this was a mere 100k. My endurance has halved. My speed, well not quite halved but it's way down.
