yeh, i've straightened and fixed bikes for the kids on my mum's road many times including a set of forks the wrong way round.

There was a recumbent made once which deliberately had the forks on backwards. Apparently it worked quite well.

My Pace forks have the brakes fitted like that!

Apparently it was a design feature to make the front brake as powerful as the back one.

It would make some sense putting the brakes behind the fork on TT bikes to improve aerodynamics.

With cantis, the rotation of the wheel has the effect of pushing the mounting studs outward on a front mounted brake, but this effect is reversed on the back brake hence the Pace design.
