2:37 and 3:55 are dodgy but the rest was fairly skillfully ridden, IMHO.

You cannot compare the TDF descent which is devoid of traffic in both directions to what we have just witnessed.

IMO very stupid and in particular relying on car drivers not to pull out in front is madness - there were numerous occasions where he would have ended up as road pizza.

The brave shall inherit the earth unless they are taken out of the gene pool first, this rider is certainly one of those candiates.

I wasn't. This is entertainment, nothing more.

I would think the Dublin rider reached about 40mph. He or she is not leaning overmuch on the bends.

Some of the overtakes are illegal, but this is a well surfaced road and if there's nothing coming the other way then..........

I was impressed by the speeds at first - but it seemed all the cars were braking in front of him -why would they do that??
A few reckless overtakes, but he seems to know what he's doing.
I wouldn't call him stupid, but I may question his mental health!

He overtook on a single white line several times. Ask yourself if a car overtaking a bike like that would get pulled over and prosecute? No, IMHO.
I don't know what the law is in Ireland (I assume its Ireland) but you are allowed to overtake cycles over solid lines in this country.

1) they saw the cyclist and slowed to let him past - a possibility but probably not the case here. It has happened to me on more open less complicated foreign roads where cyclists are commonplace and people in cars aren't in a hurry
2) they are cautious drivers, possibly older aged - could be so for country lanes in Ireland
3) they know the road, they know the steep gradients going round the corners, the blindness of the bends, how narrow the lanes are for them and that to get round safely allowing space for oncoming traffic, they need to be at a low speed to manoeuvre and on the brakes. They have no margin for error while in the narrow lane going round a tight bend on a steep gradient. I think this is what's going on and also explains how the cyclist can get his acceleration so quickly.

lol, at the comment's on youtube.

"Good on you for saving this. I too have a copy." Internet tossbag's are now compiling their own archive? If you have the space to archive this sort of shoot, you have a hard drive which is too large!

In the UK it's allowed if safe. My point is some of his overtakes were not safe, being alongside a car on the wrong side of the road on a blind bend is a form of Russian Roulette.
