... but it sounds like it should be a small town in Oirland or Scotchland.

Is there a settlement with a similar arrangement of letters in the British Isles?

Mull of Kintyre or Mull of Galway are the closest I can find. Unless anyone can find a place almost called Gatawny, and then move it to the coast.
