Can't see the vid 'til I get home tonight.
Must be muppet season - I had 1 incident on the way in yesterday and 4 incidents on the ride home - that's more than the whole of the last 4 or 5 months combined!
Morning - an early morning walker and I had to vacate the Roseburn Path just off Groathill Avenue for a few secs to make way for a bloke screaming by on a mini-moto. This was 6.30am, he had a helmet on and gave us an apologetic wave as he passed. Looked like he was on his way to work!! Ped & I were distinctly unimpressed by his behaviour.
Evening: close pass and left-hook on the access road up to Ed Park Station by a young lady who floored it to get to the 90-degree left bend ahead before me. Heard the sudden increase in revs so was ready for it. No excuse as the road was empty and there's room for two double-deckers on each side!
Bankhead - elderly gent pulls out of side road into my path as I was hitting 23mph. Slamming on of my brakes as he's not even accelerating away: he pootles down the road at under 20mph, glancing in his mirror repeatedly.
Broomhouse - a purple Fiesta skims by with under 30cms between it and my bars. Scared the bejesus out of me as I didn't expect it. Other traffic that I'd been keeping an eye on over my shoulder had given me a wide berth as they passed.
Coalhill, Leith - 4x4 flatbed vehicle makes a flying turn to squeeze through bollards into a road that's supposed to be closed off (someone's knicked a bollard at either end, making it possible for cars to squeeze through - reported by numerous people to the council but zero response). Because he's done the turn blind (too busy watching the cars coming down the main road to look where he's turning), he almost hits me head on as he's not seen me. He rolls down his window and says, "It's an open road, mate!" as though that's his excuse for not looking where he's going. The fact that he's just had to go for a gap between three bollards would indicate that it's not really supposed to be open either, but hey-ho. I just shook my head and pedalled off to do the remaining 20m to my front door.
