Have you enjoyed watching the series? I have although the historical facts are a bit distorted:
- the musketeer uniform is somewhat very too modern. Musketeers wore a blue cap with a picture of the Fleur de Lys on it.
- They certainly did not wear a "cowboy" hat.
- The King, Louis XIII is supposed to have a moustache.
- Cardinal Richelieu always wore red gowns.
- The swords they used were wrong, they had rapiers in those days, just a thin blade, designed to thrust into your opponent.
But despite all this, I hope they make a second series as I very much enjoyed it and was very well acted.

Why are they called Musketeers, when they use swords more than muskets?

I managed to watch the first two or three but went off the boil a bit after that. Wifey seems to like it though. Was a bit too much of a hiss-boo panto for me.

I am no expert on the period but they seemed to be fighting in ruined castles when I think that perhaps the castle was not in ruins back then.

It is a bit like pirate films and cowboy films - the story slot into the rules of the genre.

I have liked what I saw as half decent sunday evening TV fayre but… the dialogue, story & acting might be much, much, better. I suspect the BBC just have constraints on how much cash they could throw at it.
Interesting to see it is made in East Europe - I think it is Poland or the Czech republic.

I agree. It has all the ingredients of perfect Sunday night viewing - costume drama, plenty of action, not too complicated to follow and the leads aren't exactly hard to look at but unfortunately, the story lines and acting have not held my attention for some reason and I have been rather disappointed by the whole thing. I expect we will be watching the second series though as the kids have really enjoyed it.
Bring back Dogtanian and the Three Muskahounds instead! (Showing my age!)

The acting was pretty good, especially Porthos and Athos. (and obviously Peter Capaldi)

I felt D'artagnan was a bit miscast. He just didn't feel right.

Obviously an utter farce when it came to historical accuracy, but you don't expect a programme like that to be accurate.
