My wife's bank and costa card both threw a wobbler after she started keeping them in her phone cover thing. My bank card is kept with my mobile phone in the same holder. Never had any trouble using it.
https://arstechnica.co.uk/informati.../uk-new-pound-coin-release-security-features/I understand they contain some sort of chip, which sounds pretty smart but I do wonder what'll happen to that chip if the coin is left next to a mobile phone or mag field. My bank cards have suffered due to proximity to both.
Is that just too smart.
I Am not an expert but I have never had any issues carrying my phone with an emergency credit card. People used to worry that it could kill the magnetic strip though it seems it could be a myth a bit like starting a fire with your phone at a petrol station. My wife's bank and costa card both threw a wobbler after she started keeping them in her phone cover thing.
Won't happen with credit cards, they use a different type of magnetic strip to cards like hotel room cards, which are designed to be rewritten frequently. Those can be wiped with a mobile phone.I Am not an expert but I have never had any issues carrying my phone with an emergency credit card.
