It's gratifying to see that custom steel bicycle frames are not yet a dead art form. Over here though, chroming may be. My powder-coater didn't know of any sources, and he's a frame-builder, too.
The bikes in this thread are beautiful, alright. But many modern beholders see gas-pipe with wires flapping in the wind, and won't be told it's not so. Will these still be available when we're not around?
The disagreeable part about old quill stems is the need to thread the bars through the old one-bolt clamp. A quill adapter allows for easy height adjustment, along with new-style, easy-swap stems, for the best of both.
