Local bakeries that opened at 3 in the morning - and the first freshly baked baps and butteries of the day.

Waking up with frost on the inside of my bedroom window! BRRRR! Then rushing downstairs to sit beside the coal burning stove in the kitchen to warm up. This makes me sound like I grew up in the 1930s or something

Harrington jacket, Sta-press trousers (slightly too short) white socks and loafers. This was the "uniform" of the kids on my estate, but my mum didn't want me dressing like a "yobbo" so I could only dream of looking cool....
