Mmm, well today I made that fatal mistake of just having a quick look at my creaking head-set bolts, and 1hr later had ended-up removing my handlebars, forks and both sealed bearing races. After prying them open, I cleaned out the remaining gunge and re-packed the grease before popping it all back together. Feels smooth and creak free but a proper test ride is needed now
