At the end of the Womens Team Pursuit the camera panned to Cavendish in the BBC area looking a bit sad watching more Brits winning cycling medals, for a split second before he saw himself on TV and smiled at the camera. I felt sad for him.

I was curiously impressed with Joanna Rowsell appearing on TV around the globe without trying to hide her hair condition.

Dunno if its already been posted, but Samuel L Jackson has been tweeting frequently about Team USA in the Olympics, but also this one about Team GB Cyclists which amused me. Colourful language as youd expect from him... http://twitter.com/SamuelLJackson/status/231611779896201216

That's possibly my favourite tweet ever!

You mean the anthem? I think the recording is a particularly poor one - insipid drum roll and then the first notes come in quickly and are very weak. By the time it really gets clear everyone just has to work out what word they ought to be on and take it from there.

Awwww. I'm sure they could have got someone else to do the TV punditry though, I'm sure he had a choice. Personally I think Graeme Obree would have been rather fun!

Yes what exactly is wrong with her?

I've noticed a lot of the lady runners have outies

Wasn't there a South African Ahlete who had to prove she was a Woman or similar? And well, we all know about those East Germans......Sorry, wrong kind of outie

I dont think it was part of the BBC punditry but the Olympics world feed that caught him (although he was there for the punditry), just after the women went over the line, they do those crowd shots to show people celebrating and pick out the royals, mcartneys and the like and there was a quick shot of Cav leaning on the BBC balcony and I thought he looked rather down. It must be hard watching the other Brit cyclists doing so well and bringing in the medals.

I googled Joanna earlier, apparently shes had some kind of alopecia since childhood, Im not sure if she was trying to raise awareness or not, but I thought it was brave of her on the world stage.
