The arrival of Prince George was just the dress rehearsal, now we have at least two weeks of rolling news showing pictures of sleeping pandas, eating pandas, walking pandas, scratching pandas whistbreporters scrabble around finding anyone to interview, and end up quizzing each other.

If only there was some dictator somewhere committing the mass homicide of his own people to distract us.

Pandas - the opium of the masses.
Evolving to only eat bamboo was a bit short-sighted. Water chestnuts are much nicer.
also, bamboo dies off in great swathes... when a certain part of a 'family' of it goes, the whole lot dies. so, soppy panda could be sitting in the middle of a mass of dead bamboo for miles around.

still, they look good on the WWF logo.

We're big panda fans a our house. We are watching every bit of panda news and scrutinising it closely.

As soon as we're allowed we will be visiting the baby panda.

Sad about the dictators killing people, the adults in the household are also following that closely too, but light relief is needed to balance life out.

They have evolved to the point of deserving to be extinct IMO

Pandas will thrive in this country. Lazy, workshy layabouts, when they heard about the benefits system they couldn't wait to get here. In a couple of year's time we'll need panda culls.

By the way BBC, it's not Britain's only female panda. It's Scotland's panda. Get yer own panda! ;)
