The Price of Sweets These Days

Popped in local shop tonight just to pick up some beers, thought would get some Snack a Jacks as well glanced at the price 59p jeez. From there looked at the price of the choccy 58p for a Frys Turkish Delight and 49p for a little bag of minstrels nothing cheap a little bar of dairy milk wafer thin 18p.
I remember when 10p took time to spend.

Im 46,i can even remember it was half a pence bus fare when i went to junior school,it was st augustines on larchfield street,its gone now, some of the building remains i think,but they are flats now.

If you think sweets are dear nowadays, here's a nice comparison.
When i wur a lad....(circa... oh jesus....1970
we could buy a bag of chips for 6d (2.5 pence)...or...
we could buy a mars bar for 6d....choices choices

Now, that Mars bar will cost you...well...less than 50p
That bag of chips costs over a pound a whole pound i tell you
