A bowl of porridge with sultanas and honey keeps me going until lunch time. There is no need for elevenses and I reckon it helps me concentrate when working.

Country Store.. rarely seen these days. I liked that for the maize & little bit of apple in it.
Yes it's a bit lighter than other muesli type cereals, though when I first tasted it again after a bit of a gap it seemed incredibly sweet.... probably why I like it!

An aunt used to get me some whenever she was down in Thetford as I've not seen any in the supermarkets up here for years. They no longer have it there either and she even had trouble finding it when they were in France. I think my Country Store days are numbered!

Muesli (the no added sugar version) and some fruit in the mornings.

Mind you porridge is looking good as the weather is getting colder

Porridge made with no milk - sorry WC but I'm an allergic*. A big pan made up at the end of the week to last while the end of the following, half and half pinhead and normal oats, sometimes with quinoa chucked in.

I was a big fan of the Dorset Cereal Really Nutty but it tastes crap with water, soy or rice milk and goat juice is too dear for everyday usage.

* and it tastes better

Why are you sorry about having porridge made with no milk? Porridge should not be made with milk, it should be made with water.

cos I'm an eejit and misremembered your preference. It does taste better, I used to make it with milk but saw the light a couple of years ago.

Porridge. With water. But if no porridge I'll have weetabix. I love the sweet stuff too, but only have it about once a year or so! (sugar puffs and the like)

I make my porridge with a mix of half water and half soya milk - is that bad?

Soya milk is disgusting. *bleechh*

I tried it years ago when WCMnr was a baby and he was being breastfed. He got colic which would not clear. One remedy I was advised to try was to stop my intake of any dairy products (and take calcium supplements for the duration). I did this and tried soya milk. It was *foul* On the plus side, the keeping off dairy worked like a dream as regards getting rid of WCMnr's colic. MrWC has soya milk now on his breakfast cereal and he tolerates it rather than likes it (he was advised to cut down on dairy).

Soya milk has come on in the last few years, I realise it's not everyone's cup of tea - talking of which I wouldn't put it in tea.
It used to taste like cardboard but some of them are quite nice now - maybe it's just an acquired taste but I like it.
