I notice this morning that I have a flat so I pump the wheel up and I hear her " Pssssssssst"
I find the nick and have a dig around and she gets louder " PSSSSSSSSSST"
The wheel if flat again within a minute so should be easy to find .
I remove the tyre and find I have repaired that one before so the patch must be leaking . So I pump the tube up and nothing . I add water to see if she will show herself and nothing . I replace everything and pump up the wheel again and nothing .
Have a bath and come back to it and still everything is fine

It will remain fine, until...... you are out on a ride later, at the furthest point from home, in the pouring rain.

I know :ninja:
I think its time to go back to Armadillo's .
I have Armadillos on my Secteur. Didn't stop me getting a puncture a few weeks back. Being thorn season here with farmers trimming hedges; this was the king of thorns and a bugger to get out of the tyre.
To be fair to Armadillos, I reckon I would get a LOT more punctures if running on normal tyres.

I'm sure its not just a Jock thing....
Two in two days last week..
second in the pitcho blacko too
bleedin' farmers out 'trimming' their hawthorn hedges...
side roads avoided for a month..
The same happened last year and you would think I would learn...eejit:blush:

Fast and careful!
All tyres puncture, and the roads are a puncture giving nightmare at present, hedge cutting, flash rains driving flints from the sides,
It's just never nice to get a visit from the puncture fairy, and never great to have to do a repair twice

I've just had my first puncture in about 6 months -.on the back wheel of the turbo trainer!
new tire time?

is it only me who likes hedge cutting and i am currently looking at hedge cutters for the tractor on ebay thinking, 'if only i had '£2-3000'!
also is it only me who is really impressed by the main local hedge cutter as he has got himself a new tractor recently that is only 3 years old!

i don't know, i guess i must be a f***er
Cheers Ed

I've had this before, in my case it was a failing patch, if you pumped the tyre up above a certain pressure the patch would leak and the tyre would go down slowly, once below the critical pressure it would stay air tight as long as you left it below critical pressure, eventually it failed totally.

Flat this morning, quickly change, ring work 'going to be a little late blah blah'. 10 miles in flat again, remove piece of glass I missed in my haste. Put in just enough air to get me to work as I'm now properly late. Leave work thinking I'll put in a little more air to make the ride home more comfortable, bike falls over snapping valve causing all air to piss out. Cue swearing.
and the lesson I've learned is.............

I need n+1
