Who doesn’t carry minimalist tools because they are too heavy?

I have the solution: Carry on as you are and leave your repair kit out of the picture. When you do experience a flat it will be a good moment to endure the walk of shame. It would also be a good time to wreck your expensive SPDs. Maybe in the cold and the dark you will choose your other cleat removal plan and find the cleat screws have seized and you shear the bolt wrecking them anyway.

Or:

Velotastic do some lightweight tools which weigh less than a sandwich should you not come up with a better plan than not taking tools.

If you are riding a cx bike then you have already given up on superfluous weight. Puncture repair kit is less than 0.5% of your setup.

There are 6 bikes hanging up here, everyone has a pouch on with two tubes, levers and co2 in. As a teenager would you have gone out on a Saturday night without the required safety equipment.

I'm often too far from home to walk if I puncture so I carry spare tube, puncture kit, levers and pump. Even on short trips I carry the kit.
