Shame. :cry:And we was looking for some entertainment!

Cheers... Unfortunately it seems I have to fit my holiday/touring plans round others... who'll probably change theirs at the last minute
I am actually cycling down over several days from Northumberland to London/Surrey, and was definitely up for doing this ride.... now it seems an ageing aunty of mine is making a visit over from Ireland... she's in her 80s, so ...er... well, guess I ought to see her... it's the day/night of this ride though.... never mind, there'll be more rides, but she might not make it over again!

This thread has made me start to think about a 'Miles for breakfast' ride.
Really, probably needs a thread of it's own...
The general idea being to ride overnight to Ramsgate, have breakfast at Miles, and then either catch the train from Ramsgate or make our way around the coast with various rail-bail options round the north Kent coast say, as far as (inland) Faversham.
August bank Holiday Friday for starters.
There's a weekend's worth of recovery to be had there....
Any takers?

That Friday's the first of the Southwold rides. I have the following week off so I'll be hopefully doing the second one. Some might be double-booked. But if I can, 'ohhhhh yes'

Ok I've looked all through the thread and almost certainly missed it but what time are we expecting to arrive in Dover? I shall be booking a train back (for a change) as a. I'll still be on a post-LEL high and b. the 9th is the first day of my two and a half week holiday so will be intending to take liquid refreshment, preferably in sight of the sea.
