Frightening how fast the years seem to be whizzing by now. I wish it would slow down a bit.

Very pleasant 5 mile walk done with a hill in the middle which had a nice bench half way up. It was in the direct sun so I sat for 15 minutes admiring the view.

I’ll hold off eating until lunchtime I think. I’ve stuck some cream in my coffee. That’ll keep me going.

Old, I suspect. But it's better than the alternative. Probably.

After much foxtrotting about betwixt internet and telephone I managed to register for my OU course starting in october. That gives me 7 months to get the grass cut.

I have a 'single' induction hob which is enough for me. I like it.
TBH I only use it for basic things like fried egg or pasta.

Mrs Tkk uses a large " Greenpan " saute pan to make her Risotto. It's a brilliant pan, so easy to clean. After cooking in it I usually fill it about 1/3 full with water with a squirt of washing up liquid and heat it up on the hob. When I did this last night on the induction hob I noticed that the pattern of bubbles as the water heated up was uniform across the base of the pan, when I used it on the gas hob there were more isolated regions.

I can see having sugar in it - just not milk!

whiskey is just silly - put it in a glass at the side!!
putting it in the coffee just makes the alcohol evaporate
Hence Irish Coffee is just daft and for simpletons!

Did an OU MA 20 years ago. Loved it - one of the best things I've done. Cost me just £3000 back then.

Off out on the bike shortly, a few errands and some forgotten shopping to do. I think I'll stop at the burrito shack for a lunchtime bite to eat. I'll be passing by and as MrsP is out all day with a friend I can't be bothered to cook.

Following a recent change in the local M+S foodhall I approached an assistant and said " OK, I give up, where have you hidden the Soy sauce this week? ". I believe it's a deliberate tactic as you have to wander around more of the store and go past items that might grab your attention.

I don;t think I was being especially obtuse!

I used to have 2 sugars in black coffee but when I was about 18 I was at university and realised I was miles behind with work and only had Saturday to catch up

and the on campus shop was closed on Saturday - and the next nearest was in Beeston and was too far away to get there and back and still get the work done

by the end of the weekend I no longer took sugar in coffee!

anyway - hope that was not overly obuse

coffee - black - no sugar

whiskey in a glass not in hot liquid

and no ice

anyone want details of tea???
