keep hydrated , it might revive you a bit , I think men are supposed to drink 3 pints ( not beer ! ) a day . tea dehydrates a bit and coffee is worse , the caffeine 'aint the best for old codgers like us
I try to drink 2.5l per 24 hours as routine. I always hit 2.0l but the extra 500ml is often an issue.

When I'm riding that's much higher. I drank 3.0l on my 51 mile jaunt.

Had my phone call. Im getting some speech-to-text softwsre, a new laptop, a new chair, and a £180 annual allowance for printer ink and paper.

Not having proper use of my right hand an arm is a ballache at times, but this has cheered me up a bit.

Blimey that's a lot on a ride but probably better than me as I don't drink enough. I did 46miles yesterday with a decent amount of climbing and barely got through 1.5litres. I do make an effort on rides to drink regularly but suspect I need more. I have one bidon with electrolytes and carbs and one just water.

Barnet,
My phone battery is dieing. I think I'll kick off with a full reset tonight. If that doesn't do the job it will be time to investigate a new battery. I'm loathe to replace the phone, such a waste.

Suggestions on a postcard for possible fixes.

Can you change the battery? Most modern 'phones the battery cannot be changed unless you take it to a shop.

Sold my wife's AJS 125 and delivered it to a chap on Exmoor who's just passed his CBT.
He's well chuffed with it and MrsD now has £1500 burning a hole in her pocket.

Currently 30 degrees in Watchet. :sun:

OMG! how frequent/long were your "comfort stops" 😂
Only one and that was at the cafe stop. One way or another I lose a lot of fluid during a ride. It was hot yesterday. It's more usual for me to drink 2l on a ride. That usually means a pee stop enroute to the cafe and another at the cafe

My regular buddy drinks very little and after a long, warm ride will often weigh in at 1 - 2kg less than when he set off. Clearly his body is grabbing water where it can.

It works for me and I take it seriously. If I don't drink I will be badly dehydrated the next morning.

Just come back from picking the grand kids up from school

basic plan is always to get to their house for about 2:30 and let ourselves in
(they are both working - she gets home about 4 ish)

Then I leave at about 2:45 to drive to the youngest school and pick him up and his cousin
(yes - I know - their choice of school and it is the nearest Catholic one
and just happens to be the best local school!)

anyway
SWMBO waits in for the Grand daughter who comes home on the train from her Secondary School
and the middle one who comes at some random traffic dependant time on a bus from his Special School"

and at some point in all that their Mum will get in - again traffic dependant due to buses and stuff from the City Centre

anyway - back to the point

when I picked the little one from the Nursery class up he was fine and we wernt to get his cousin from Year 2

When he came out his teacher looked a bit sheepish but I just got hold of him and we all went to the car

I noticed that he had had a hair cut
well - when I say hair cut - I mean the lowest possible hair cut - probably less than a setting of One on teh buzzy thing - well less than one
damn near a shaved head

which seemed weird - but it is hot and people can do strange things

anyway - when the kids Mum turned up she told the story

apparnently when she went to pick them up yesterday (she works Thu Fri and weekends) the she had to go ina talk to teh teacher and Head
She assumed it was one of the two of the doing something badish

but no

apparently in the cousin's class they had been doing Art - involving cutting things out and sticking them on something
the cousin and his "friends" on his table at school decided to have dare and cut bits out of each other's hair
2 girls and 2 boys
so they did
not just little snips but dirty great chunks really close to the skin!!!!

so the cousin's Mum had to take him to a barber and get something sorted and it was so low that the only solution was a very low buzz cut

Only the Gods know what the girls' Mum's did!!!!

anyway - I was a teacher for 14 years - 10 in Secondary and 4 in Primary

and I am pretty sure I would never have missed something like THAT brewing up
kids are not subtle and that would have being brewing for a while

or maybe I am doing teh normal retirement thing of viewing my career in a rosy glow??

anyway - facts are that I never missed anything serious brewing
except once and that was because the doctor had put me on Prosac and I was away with teh faeries most of the time for a few weeks!!!

anyway - anyone spots girls with strange haircuts around AIntree then I know what school they got to!!!
