The Retirement Thread

Paid 425K for our place in 2023.
It's a bit weird as it's a 3 bed house with a 1 bed annexe.
We tend to live in the annexe and use the house as storage/office/guest accommodation.
The house is band C and the annexe is band A but we only pay 50% on the annexe as we use the properties as one house.
So,effectively, we pay 1.3 band C council tax.

Funnily enough (well I didn't know) that there are some edible fresh water cod.

That's it then. Three evenings in a row I've tried to cut the grass. It's rained and now raining again........and chilly.

Tennis. I may go to bed quite early tonight. Mrs P has maintained a running commentary for some time hours...........and I'm not that interested

I have been treated to a detailed assessment of th enumber of seeds that have gone out this year

The grounds-people must be really worried about the grass next year I would imagine!

but only for a few minutes then it stops and then starts again a while later

I was hoping for more
especially after the Lawn Care guy came round yesterday and it could do with some rain to sort it out properly

In the meantime Emma radukanu is on court

and the crowd is "rather partisan"

The weather is getting worse by the minute. Sheets of rain, gusty winds and cold. Im wearing a fleece. It's like November. Lytham Festival has been cancelled for tonight and is in doubt for tomorrow. That would be a great shame for the organisers and the crowd.

I can’t take to her for some reason. I ended up catching up on Murder Most Puzzling as I forgot about it last night.

I get that. Saying that I feel very pleased for her. A young woman who enjoyed great success, probably too early, only to endure four years of injury, poor form and horrible harassment from a stalker. Watching her play so well in the last round and again tonight is great to see for Raducanu. She's been through a lot.
