Good morning. It's grey, overcast and cool. That will do me as I have an important day planned and I don't want it interrupted by rain, hopefully the forecast for heavy local showers is right. I just need to be in the right local!

For a while its been obvious #1SP wanted some "me" time with her Granddad. She has found it difficult since her baby sister started coming to ours on a Tuesday, what was previously her day which she now has to share. Today we're going to a park with an excellent play area, ducks to feed and train rides. #1SP chose the park. It was a toss up between two, her favourite and the one that has strawberry ice cream with sprinkles.  We're going to her favourite and Granddad has promised to find strawberry ice cream with sprinkles!!! The picnic is packed and Granddad is ready to go. Truth be known Granddad needs this day as much as granddaughter does.

Mrs P and I are invited to friends tonight for curry and canasta. This has been known to involve whisky in the past........there goes the meal planning and calorie counting for today.............................life is a balance.............................

My PT will tell you life is a balance. I tea and a small KitKat gives you pleasure and helps get you going in the morning then do it...................just don't eat six a day!

I’ve eaten more than that in a day!

Morning again. 7.5 mile walk done. Feeling a bit humid, but pleasant enough. The cloud is already gathering though so I think the forecast of rain by late morning looks like being correct.

A good stage of cycling to watch later.

Morning all.
A cloudy start to the day here in Glasgow.
I'm taking a walk down by the River Clyde, plenty of cyclists and runners using the riverside paths.
The rain should hold off long enough until I get the train back to the smoke at 1.30.
And the rain should of stopped in London by the time I arrive.
Have a good day everyone.

Salut I was going to go for a ride before the TdF starts but it rained so maybe I will go after the TdF finishes.
I was looking for flights with Easyjet from Manchester to Paris Orly in September but it didn't show any which seems strange. Four of us intend to go for a week so I am pricing it all up for flight, car hire and 3 nights in a gite in Normandy. The first 3 nights will be at my brother's near Orleans.

Contemplating a trip to the great metropolises (Stirling) this afternoon. I'm off camping at Loch Lomond next week, staying at the forestry campsite which doesn't have showers. No problem, normally I'd just go for a swim, only it's likely to be a bit crowded for swimming au naturale and I throw out my last pair of swimming shorts as the elastic had perished. I hate going into town it's such a faff.

Had my blood taken AND didn't cry !!!
Seriously though, I hardly felt this one while some of them feel they are using knitting needles......I wonder why that is.

Mrs P, retired midwife, will tell you it is a genuine skill which some nurses don't master. When goes for the cancer treatment she always asks for one of two nurses to put the canula in.

Mrs P has drained blood from many thousands of women!! 👀

When I had my last 2 canulas in it was a young nurse that did it. I think she was just learning and seemed very nervous.
Not sure if I felt more sorry for me or her. It took ages with lots of attempts before she got it in.
