Been there done that. I also made a vegemite sandwich, vegemite being about 99.9%salt.

Yes, I should have done similar. I contemplated salty water but couldn't face the thought. I had another bout of cramps in the night, in the adductors again. This time I remembered the stretches my PT gave me three years ago, that soon got on top of things. I'll have to discuss this with her next time. Any cycling related cramp is extremely unusual for me, once a year perhaps and never as crippling as last night. The only think I can think of is I've put slim inserts in my shoes to address a metatarsal issue - under supervision from a friend who is a cyclist and specialises in biomechanics. I'll speak to her as well.

Good morning. It was bright and beautiful an hour or so back when I got up. Now the forecast looks like it's correct, cold and heavy rain. Biblical thunderstorm and lightning right over the house last night. I could almost feel the foundations shake. I appear to be in calorie deficit after yesterday's ride; one breakfast consumed already and another planned for an hour or so. Weetabix for the first go, pineapple and mango with yoghurt for the next.

On Thursday we're heading off to the Smoke for a few days, mainly for my cousin's party, he is 75 and his wife 70. I've a funny feeling there will be a lot of very monied people with very different lifestyles to mine.........I did wonder what to wear to avoid being the poor relation down from Lancashire. F*** that! "A Northern horde of uncouth garb and strange oaths" is how the Pall Mall Gazette described Blackburn Rovers fans in March 1884 when we arrived at the Kennington Oval to beat Queen's Park, 2- 1, in the first FA Cup Final to feature a team from Scotland...........................a badge we wear with pride to this day!!!!

I digress, it's what my mind does. We are away from Thursday. There's loads of domestics to do. It's #2SP's second birthday and there's a late afternoon party. I'll use the best part of today to crack on with the housework etc.

Morning all :hello:

Off to the Railway Inn for Sunday lunch; no need to book as we have our own table permanently reserved.
MrsD is over the moon with her new eye. I was driving into Watchet yesterday and she kept pointing out things that she hadn't noticed before. I hadn't realised how bad her eyesight must have been previously.

I wish to make a confession

Or many year when I was a youngster I would ride my bike around the Wirral

Illegally

I was committing a heinous and banned criminal activity in such a sneaky and underhand manner that I never got caught

but time has gone on and I wish to save my conscience and admit to it

NOT ONLY THAT but I suspect another member of the forum may have been guilty as well - but I won;t "out" him

as I believe him to be the sort of chappie that would wish to come clean in his mater years

The crime was cycling along a path where one was only allowed to proceed using you 2 feet

I may also have been guilty of Wantonly singing (although not when anyone else could have heard me!!!)
although I am pretty sure I never sounded a noisy trumpet or beat a carpet

anyway here are the details

Morning.
Calm before the storm. No wind or rain - yet.

Yet more washing on and unfortunatley it'll be hung inside to dry given forecast.
I couldn't face wind yesterday so turbo instead. Last bike related exercise before Tuesday when I head to Mallorca with family. Will be riding outside there....

My cousin will be up from London for this one. It's a long story. Surrey born and bred, most of life in London, partner at PWC, you get the picture yet he's supported Burnley through thick and thin since the age of 10 or 11. He's a season ticket holder at Turf Moor.

Despite having more money than I can imagine they're very ordinary, grounded folk. It's just his ordinary is first class train to Preston, taxi to the Turf, watch the match and home again. There's no flamboyance or similar, it is just what he does because he can. Full marks I say.

Fully agree. I like that sort of person.
Pity he will be crying later
