I thought breakfast was the one meal you are not supposed to cut out. That's what I read but it's probably a fad that will be changed by next week.

To be honest, I am sick of conflicting views from the so called experts on diet. The only thing that really makes much sense to me is various lengths of fasting combined with smaller meals and cutting out snacking. Sounds relatively simple, but after a lifetime of yo-yo dieting and binge eating, it's not that easy for me at least. One of my favourite Youtube "experts" is Dr Pradip Jamnadas who advocates fasting. He is a practicing cardiologist and seems to know his stuff.

That was a cool but gorgeous walk again. 8.5 miles with a big hill in the middle.

I'm going to try cutting out breakfast for a while and see if I can finally drop some of the excess pounds I'm lugging around.

Do you track your carb intake Mo as with your level of exercise losing weight should be a breeze?

In 2016 I got fat (depression, mis-diagnosed with MND). Started tracking how many carbs I was consuming and was shocked.

Cut back to a daily sensible amount and the pounds fell off.

I still don't eat potatoes, rice, bread, crisps, cereals etc.

Treats are Aldi 85% dark choc and seaside chips (after a long coastal walk) a couple of times each year.

I tried a more keto diet previously, but always felt much more lethargic. I seem to need a reasonable amount of carbs for exercising.

Just found another Dr Jamnadas video which is excellent and he says sugary food and eating too often is the root cause of most of our health problems and I totally agree.

Leukemia update:

Following 3rd round of chemo; I am doing "amazingly well" and bone marrow is functioning at normal levels and not producing any little white bastards (cancerous immature white blood cells).

Horrible bone marrow biopsy due next week followed by one more round of chemo.

All positive stuff!

He is right. Sugar = carbs = not good.

There Is no such thing as an 'essential' carb AFAIK.

Talking of food.....the bird feeders need topping up. I must get the hungriest birds in the UK  .
Worth it though as I get a lot of pleasure from watching them
