I'm going to set my turbo up in my mancave later. My days of going out in the rain for the sake of it are long gone. :bicycle:

I've always been a fair weather cyclist. I hate the turbo with a passion but it's lesser of two evils if weather is crap. I do though ride outside at any opportunity even if cold this time of year but rain no thanks. It's not actually raining at present here but it's blowing 30mph+ so that's a no-no for me

Good morning. Wet! Again! A poor sleep so feeling a bit nackered. I've had two coffees and my porridge is ready. That should help matters along. Speaking of porridge my Aldi didn't have any Kavanaghs oats. This is a crisis. Kavanagh's are the best I've ever found. The offer was Golden Bridge Scottish Oats - I doubt this brand exists. Disappointed. I've found the Aldi supplier and emailed them.

Our newsagent is closing. As from today we are supposed to get the Guardian delivered direct to home by 9.00am. 3 minutes to go.......I'm not hopeful. 😪

Rovers are at home...........I'm more hopeful of a Guardian delivery than a Rovers win. 😪😪😪

I'm similar regarding weather. I don't think of myself as fair weather but I won't set off in rain, high winds or when there is potential for ice. We don't mind riding in rain if it's around but rarely set off if it's actually raining.

That's a coincidence, I remember that the LSD tabs that were being circulated in Brum back in the 70's came from a rural location in Wales...

That says it all then.

Personally, I don't see the point in riding in the rain. Your vision is limited, your brakes are a lot less efficient and your tyres don't grip so well. Also the facts that motorists may fail to see you if you have no lights on . When you are an older cyclist, taking unnecessary risks is rather foolish as the consequences may be very serious.
I have nothing to prove when I am riding. I just enjoy the freedom , the fresh air , keeping some sort of fitness and wanting to get back home in one piece and content.

Yes - strange things happen in the hills of Wales

I have this on the authority of a lecture in the Teacher Training Department of Bangor University where it was specifically mentioned

That was in one of the bits in English as well - as 75-80% fo the "lecture" was in Welsh (and compulsory for all students) there may have been other bits I missed
(the Welsh speaking students in our group said the whole thing was so "Welsh are the best" that they gave up listening as well!!)

Well that's a pain!!

I have run out of High STrength Vitamin D tablets
The doctor says I need to take them - but I am not convinced as the test it was based on was when I had untreated Coeliac where absorbtion was dodgy for a lot fo thing
and also in winter when I had been unwell so I had hardly been out of the house for months

Nowadays I go out riding and walking a few times a week so things have changed

I had a blood test for it via the hospital over a month ago but the hospital have not told me the results - as things go I will get them at an appointment with a dietician in APRIL!

Anyway - I thought I had better get some from Tesco when I went

Then only had the Vegan version - which was more expensive and very annoying!
