Out this evening to a friends 75th, We've known them for 40+ years, met through our then running club and used to train together a couple of times a week. Will take a few beers from our Advent Calendar as there's several " sours " that we don't drink but others might like the challenge 🤔

Enjoy. I've tried sours but not to my taste either. I found a very good alcohol free beer yesterday. A pale ale from Rivington Brewey named Beach House. We tried this and the alcohol version side by side. It was difficult to tell them apart. I'd put it up there with Guiness zero. Unfortunately it's unlikely people will find Rivington beers outside of Lancashire and in honesty not far from the actual brewery. It's made three miles from me as the crow flies........that's before the crow has had a can or two.....🤣

Cut dog walk short.

Frosty out, which should have warned me. Crossing the road, a combination of ultra slippery tactile paving (its absolutely deadly in these conditions) and Geddy pulling brought me down heavily.

Smacked the back of my head and bad elbow and knocked wind out of me. Saw stars but my wooly hat seems to have taken the sting out of it. Got a beefy graze and bruise forming on my right elbow even through the 3 layers I was wearing, but thankfully don't seem to have damaged it.

Lay there for about 2 minutes waiting for my vision to clear before trying to get back up and not one single car driving w****r so much as slowed to see if I was alright. I hope they catch dysentery and get stuck on the bog and everyone ignores their cries for help.

I think Im ok. My nasal passages feel odd, just sitting down with a cuppamfor an hour while Mrs D keeps an eye on me.
If you know you hit your head, keep an eye so to speak on your vision and hearing. The first two things that may give an indication everything isn't right.
If any doubt, get yerself checked.

Any time I hurt myself badly I don’t usually have a choice as I always feel faint and nauseous. I know just to keep my head down until I get over it. It’s embarrassing if anyone else is around though.
Sod the embarrassment. I've sat in the middle of the road refusing to get up despite people trying to lift me.

I recall one "off" when people were suggesting I should get up. Only one guy, Gary H, quietly said to me just wait till you're ready Paul. Never forgotten that.

Good morning. Another cold one with a heavy frost. I planned to join the club ride but it's too risky. There's no telling some folk. The club guys are planning to ride at 11.00 when it will have "warmed up" to 1⁰. I've passed on some wisdom. On Thursday I fell on black ice while walking at 10.40am, air temperature +/-4⁰. On investigation I found it was a strip about 15' long. I also pointed out last August the group crashed on a gravel patch. Two broken collar bones. No one listens to old farts I hope they're OK.

My day? I need to wash my coloureds - as me Mum used to say. I'll go for a walk, settle into watch the footie at lunchtime. I'm supposed to be meeting a friend for coffee at 3.30 but she's on the club ride. It's a 55 miler, I doubt she'll be back in time. I'll pop to the gym late afternoon.

I know there's a few football fans in here. It's Macclesfield v Palace at lunchtime. An interesting tie. I'm watching in the hope Adam Wharton plays for Palace. He's Blackburn born and bred and a product of Rovers academy. We were privileged, and I do mean the word, to watch him for two seasons. A sublime midfielder, hugely talented and has been an England captain in the making since his teens. Watch out for this lad. We love him, he'll always be a Rover wherever he goes. Very proud of Adam.
Do you think this game will go ahead as I dont think they have a heated pitch.

Morning folks :okay: its a heat wave! +1 :hyper:and a possible cycling day on tuesday but not banking on it.
Chopped up some mixed nuts and fruit for the birds who are demolishing them at a rate, i do like watching them, one cheeky blackbird hops into my kitchen. ^_^
I cleared all the paths for the 'oldies' [i deny my own oldie status ] who appreciate it and one guy who ive had run ins with was actually congenial and stopped to chat...found that a bit disturbing but hey ho im all for peace :okay:
Today i shall be walking the beach...just for a change!

Good morning. It must have been very cold during the night as the car was frozen this morning when I took the dogs to Angel Bay. It is sunny and blue sky so far.
I have spoken to Mrs G earlier and she could be staying in Devon for a while as our daughter is still struggling with moving. The doctor reassured her that nothing is broken but she suffers from muscle pain so it is just a question of time. She is on strong pain killers to help her through it.
Kitchen fitters coming on Monday and our son is back tomorrow so at least, his dogs will be coming home tomorrow night although they are well behaved and no trouble at all. I think Molly will be pleased to have me all to herself again.
@Drago, I hope you have nothing serious with your neck and wish you a quick recovery.
