Good morning all.
Raining now and set to rain all day with lightning forecast for early pm.
Only thing on today is a cabaret lunch at the pub. £8 for lunch, cabaret and bingo is decent value.
I did all my dark washing yesterday so, with this weather its a very chill day. I might give the treadmill some stick.
Have a good day all.

Good morning from a damp Dorset. The new security camera which has automatic pan/tilt functionality ( absolute bargain at £39 ) picked up the hedgehogs mating ritual a couple of nights ago ( male circling the female with female circling to face him accompanied by much vocal huffing ) so hopefully they will " get it together " and we'll have some hoglets to observe. A load of washing to do following our long weekend away and I have some shoes to send back to Hotter so that means a walk to the Post Office. Had a voucher from Toby Carvery for meals at £7 so will pop down with a friend who has been topping up the hedgehog food while we've been away. Diet starts tomorrow 😁

Imagine going to the shop and asking for a loaf of bread,
but you can't have the bread unless you buy butter......
Thats what your doing, the shop woudn't get away with it
but the BBC can !

Could you explain please NN? I don't understand your point. I'm happy to pay the licence fee as like others I regard it as good value. I respect the views of others who chose not to buy the licence provided they do not access any of the BBC services, news, website, radio etc. as all of this is funded by our licence fee.

If the comment is on Dave's irritation over sport, I agree with him. This is nothing to do with the BBC though. It's the sport's governing body that chooses to sell its events to Sky. Can you imagine the uproar if the BBC outbid Sky? I think the public could justifiably complain if that happened. What Sky and other pay TV companies have done for this household is that we rarely watch any sport on TV, which is quite a turnaround. If Rovers have an important away match I'll buy a one-off game pass. Mrs P watches Wimbledon. That's it. As sports viewers we are lost to all TV channels.

I won't have Sky on principle.....................and yes, the occasional match pass makes me a hypocrite!! Mrs P piggy backs on our son's Sky account to watch tennis on her laptop.

Morning all :hello:

Got to take the pup to the vets this morning for her next vaccination. Will drop in to Blue Anchor to give her a first run on the beach, before going to the Star for lunch.

@Binky you commented favourably on the spec for my new Cervelo. I guess we are similar ages and I think from your posts we have some cycling interests in common, mainly hills. An update for you. I took the Caledonia out on Monday for the first time, a flat rolling ride. When we got to the cafe my buddy sat down with his coffee and commented "that's a quick bike, Paul." About the best compliment one could hope for. We covered 37 miles to the cafe at an average of 15.4, chatted all the way and I can honestly say I didn't feel it was much of an effort.

I'm surprised. I knew she would be good but hadn't expected this. The feeling was similar to when I first mounted my Cervelo C3 ten years ago. Love at first ride. The Caledonia goes like the wind, I was able to ride in a way I haven't since my RTC and probably not for several years earlier. The 48/31 works well. At full speed I was on the 48 - 12 and my buddy, who is very powerful, was working very hard on his 52 but I could see he was still in the middle of the cassette so could have dug out more. If he had pushed it higher I could have hung on but not pushed ahead. The bike has never been about speed but I do need this ocassionaly on the club rides if the big boys turn out.

Every box ticked so far and I'm excited to see how she climbs. I can't quite believe the improvements in aero and the overall frame in the past ten years could make such a difference to a 71 year old. If you have doubts about the Pinarello and the gearing I think you can be confident the X7 will perform and 48/31 gives a lot.
