I just dislike what they do to bees. I know nature is cruel but they are horrible. Our bees are very precious and there are a lot less of them than wasps.

I don't usially get bothered by wasps and generally don't kill them but I don't want them in/on the house as they can cause a fair amount of damage.

Going back a few years Sue and I were sat in the garden, just having a chat when a wasp landed on her arm, stung her twice then flew off !!!
Never heard of a bee doing that.

No, a bee would only sting once!

Yes, wasps are far more aggressive than bees.

3 unprovoked wasp stings vs 0 bee stings for me, to date.

Limited sample admittedly!

Don’t the majority of bees leave the sting behind then die. So they would be unable to sting you twice. I was had a wasp get in my cycling helmet and it stung me 4 or 5 times.

Bees generally can;t - apparently when they sting the sting remains in the would and keeps pumping stingy stuff in - it is banned
the bee dies but it is better for the many and all that

wasps have a straight sting that can be used many times

So anyway - bikes

did intend to have a ride this afternoon

but I turned my back for a minute and my wife an appointment for me to try on some new specs for cycling at the opticians

so I decided it was about time to clean some of the grit and gunk and whatever off the chain and derailleur

the derailleur cogs were way worse than I expected

might have to take them apart and to it properly another time

Today has been mostly spent riding 123 odd kms from Kings Lynn to Ely on a meandering route via Wisbech with LucretiaMyReflection.

Mostly wind and some sun with the odd smattering of rain, lunch at Peckover House in Wisbech, some churches, lighthouses ,bridges ,and various snacks and drinks.

Will put the ride up and pics tomorrow.

Just had pasta and now wine so a pretty good day overall .

Bloody DPD still haven't delivered our coffee though ,now two days late
