I'd love to go back and get more sleep but I just seem to need less and less sleep these days. It worries me slightly as lack of sleep isn't supposed to be healthy, but if you're not tired, you're not tired. Not a lot I can do about it. Certainly wouldn't want to pop pills.

I have always needed a full night's sleep. My problem is that recently I am waking far too early for my needs.

We are not posh enough to have a Sainsbury's round here!
They are available in other supermarkets, I normally stock up when my local one has them on offer, which is quite regularly.

Good morning from a grey and slightly chilly Dorset. Noticed the recent spell of much cooler weather has resulted in the heating coming on 😮. Granddaughter has had a triple sleepover, grandad has fed her her new favourite breakfast, sourdough crumpets with Marmite and crunchy peanut butter 😎, grandma is giving her a shower then we are off to the local ponds to feed the swans🦢

I refuse to say that I use sites like that!!!!!

I am a man - some people might query that in some parts - but naturally I am perfectly capable of sorting ANYTHING out without reading the manual

AND I am (or used to be) an IT professional so all that is just not needed for proper IT people like me

So I will not be looking at that site - and anyone hacking into my browser history is clearly using Russian based AI to fouley incriminate me!!!!

and if anyone I used to work with mentions that I was always the one that read the manual for the new and changed systems is clearly lying - even if I was always given the new things for sort out because I had less problems for some reason - is clearly lying (or sadly dead in one case!)

If in doubt, stick it in cinema mode. I find that gives the nicest colours.

Yep, I know this problem only too well. Some nights I only manage 3 - 4 hours, awake by 02.00 - 03.00 and then weary for the rest of the day. I find it builds up to the point when I do sleep well for at least a night. That came along last night, asleep by 10.30 and didn't wake until 05.45, almost eight hours.

Enough of the smut and frivolity. Good morning from a sun and showers Lancashire. The showers look to be enough to prevent grass cutting. Mrs P and her best buddy are going to Manchester for most of the day. For a treat I bought them tickets for The Archers Live Tour. Yes, that is a thing. Both are very excited. This was not an entirely altruistic purchase as it means I don't have to go, get the opportunity to have one of my favourite teas and a film of my choice. Scheming? Moi? No.

I have breakfasted and next stop is the allotment for a bonfire, brassica planting and tomato tieing and side shooting. Then I'm off to the town for a haircut and gym.

I could do with some of either of those commodities!

Salut tout le monde.
Most evenings, I often watch YouTube before I go to bed , and in particular a Breton band called Tri Yann which means Les 3 Jean ( The 3 Johns) as all three members first name is Jean.
Anyway, they were singing the Breton anthem and it struck me it is exactly the same tune as the Welsh anthem so I did a bit of research on it.
The Welsh anthem was written in 1856 in Pontypridd and in 1897, a Breton poet liked the melody and put breton lyrics to it which is basically a translation of the Welsh ones.
It was finally adopted as the Breton anthem in 1903.
The irony of it all is that it is also the Cornish anthem with similar lyrics .
It all makes sense really as Wales , Cornwall and Brittany all decent from the Celts language, with Welsh being the oldest.
Fascinating.
For your information and if you fancy it, my favorite song from Tri Yann is: " Je m'en va" ( I am going away) .it is a very catching tune for those of you who speak French.

Ely is so posh that we have a Waitrose (actually had one for a few years).

Nice morning here, bit humid but a good temperature and no rain.

Had a proper big breakfast, two coffees and have done some small garden 'jobs for the weekend'.
Will now do the washing up and get some more of the forever growing and wandering bamboo up.

I seem to remember reading about a genetic link between the Basque / Cornish / Welsh peoples.
