A nice 38 miles today, a lot of it through shady countryside. Very hot towards the end though.

Cotton top donned, I have a few cotton T shirts from my early days when I used to race, unfortunately they switched to synthetic materials which aren't as cooling. Another property of cotton is that it tends to shrink over time, even when left in a drawer untouched for many years. I noticed this because my once baggy T shirts now feel distinctly snug 🤔

Good afternoon. The delicious onshore wind we had yesterday has disappeared. It's now blisteringly hot, 34⁰. We set off earlyish to do some touristy stuff. Portland seemed like a good plan with it being an almost island, so we've seen Chisel Beach, Portland Bill with a very fine lighthouse and Basking Shark, Tout Quarry Sculpture Park is excellent plus we saw Common Blue and Grayling butterflies. 👍 There was a teeny-weeny tiny breeze.

We finished off with a wonderful tour of Lidl fresh produce, chiller and freezer aisles. I wanted to stay longer but our 90 minutes free parking was up. I did suggest we extend our tour to Sainsbury's, Tesco and Waitrose where I believe they've taken delivery of fresh, free range organic air chilled by virgins waving fans across the surface before being packed in fully recycled plastic.........Mrs P said we should head back to the Airbnb

Damp Y fronts over my bum crack is keeping me cool..
