I ran out of apple pies, so just made 9 individual ones,
the kitchen was so hot by the time I had finished :heat:
Just sat down with a glass of orange juice with loads of ice.

Lunch was easy today corned beef, chips, peas and carrots
followed by apple pie (the last one from the freezer) and cream

That reminds me, i have a pint of fresh orange juice in the fridge. When the sun disappears from the patio I will do a Numbnuts and sit out there with a glass of it.

What about "an hotel", which is correct pronunciation and H isnt a vowel?
I think this one has changed over the decades. At school I was taught to write AN hotel because the H is silent. Today I would use A.

This is done to how I would say it. I never say "I'm going to an hotel" and always say "I'm going to a hotel" with the "a" pronounced as a child is taught to use phonics.......a, b, c etc

The same can be said when pronouncing an H. Some people say Haytch, when it should be Aitch.
This I think is regional. I speak with almost BBC English or received pronunciation. It's what I was taught, I make no judgement. I would say aitch, not haitch. Living in Lancashire.

My eldest granddaughter is five and learning to read and write. She lives in east Lancashire, 15 - 20 miles from us. She's forever correcting my English!!

Paul says "It's cold today"
Granddaughter "No Granddad, it's cowd" rhymes with "loud"
