Arrived safely at Flitwick Classic Car Show. Quite a few Porkers in the motorway and we were all gunning it under the bridges - the sound of that big 5 pot through the Jetex echoing back meant I could hold my head high in the Porsche convoy in which I found myself.

Right - not much on today
but wife's bread is used up so I'll have to go to M&S to get some more

yes - I know - but it's complicated as I can;t eat proper bread - and Gluten Free bread is all crap and 3 times the price so she won;t eat it

I have no clue how people lived when shops closed on Sundays!!!

They didnt need to open as things like gluten haven't been invented back then ^_^

Been for a ride

it was delayed because I got the bike out and was checking the tyre pressure and it started raining

so I had a cuppa and it carried on raining off and on

so I gave up and went anyway - long version of normal route - and didn;t get wet once!!

anyway - more people due to Saturday
did notice a strange thing that happens occasionally

3 times when a bike rider did not seem to recognise that if 2 cyclist/bike riders are approaching each other on a path then both should go to their left to pass - same as a road
most people seem to do that
I discount situations where walkers or dogs or kids complicate matter

I also discount times when the other rider is wobbly and ride on the side away from the canal or whatever - I can see their point
but if it JUST 2 riders - it seems like the obvious thing to just behave as if it is a road

but 3 times today other riders seemed to go to their right - without a good reason to do so - twice we sorted it out and both went left
but once I had to go right as he just stayed there

all 3 cases were ones with clear vision long before it became critical - not like just appearing round a bend

what do other people do??

I encounter the “go right” syndrome quite regularly, I assume they are none drivers, or, possibly from a country which drives on right, it seems more polite than thinking they are stupid. 😊

7 year old granddaughter was visiting a few months ago. Mrs Tkk had got a Tom Kerridge Lentil cottage pie from M&S on yellow sticker. Granddaughter misheard when she asked what it was she was eating and remarked " I really like Scottish Pie " . That's now become the default terminology 😁

We fostered a little boy for 6 months many moons ago. He was approx 3. He couldn't say banana.... he called it balana. That became our word for it.
