It's grandson's first day in big school today. Unfortunately, there's no safe route for him to cycle to & from the village. He, as in junior school, will get dropped off about ½ a mile away and walk the rest. Similar for picking him up.

When I were a lad, I walked several miles there & back.. Uphill in both directions.. Blizzards, hail, tornadoes.. And that was in June! Winters were even worse.. I survived, though, and it made me the man I wish i was today 💪

Well.. No details, but 7 hours in NGH A&E have been, shall we say.. Challenging!

With all the talk of cameras going in different directions, I feel have to share the fact I had colonoscopy and a endoscopy in the last couple of weeks. 😂😀

Nothing unusual was found in either , which was good but still left me with the symptoms which were the reason for the investigations . Thankfully the consultant I saw also suggested a change to just the timings of my existing meds .
And while it hasn’t solved my problems it’s certainly mitigated most of them , at least I can get some proper sleep now 😀.
It amazing what a small change can do .

While I was at Blackpool Victoria I was struck by how busy the place appeared to be. The main corridor was like the M6 round Preston.

However the departments I visit on a regular, if annual, like today, basis, seem efficient, well staffed by lovely, caring people. I made a silly joke about a career looking at people's bums, the nurse was kindness itself. Careful, aware when I felt discomfort, explaining everything we could both see on screen.

But you're right some of it is like a war zone, A&E, clinical wards, surgical wards, etc. The people there care just as much under incredible pressure. I don't think I could handle it.

The NHS is bloody marvellous.

When i was taken into hospital last time I spent the best part of 2 days on a trolley in A&E while waiting for a bed to be free. It was, to say the least, an education.

Make the managers work at desks in the corridor and use their offices for patients.

@PaulSB I'm fine, thank you, apart from my recently improving back strain being put back a week by sitting on a plastic chair for so long!

Got in to find a letter from the NHS with a flu jab appointment which I have cancelled. They can poke their jabs in someone else.

I will take any immunisation jab that is offered.
