Glad the path went in ok , don’t worry about the Grape Hyacinths. The one thing I do know about them is ‘ they will be back ‘ 😂.
I’ve been trying to get rid of the ones in my front garden for over a decade and I still get some every spring. I think the only way I will ever get rid of them is napalm the whole garden . 😂

Agent orange is more effective.....

Today is the day to try to sort out our passports

Mine should be OK - still valid but runs out in May so needs renewing

My wife's on the other hand, expired at the start of the pandemic so we didn;t bother renewing
WHich means she has no photo id - or for that matter official id of any kind - because her name has changed since she last got one (we got married - I know we are kinda old - but these dating website turn out to be damn dangerous!!!!)

Anyway - her actual old passport has gone missing. I was 'told off' a few days ago for keeping mine in 'the wrong place' so I have refrained from commenting about why hers is missing when mine was found in 0.2 seconds of starting to look!

Also - our marriage certificate was missing but I hadn;t mentioned this. On starting to look for her passport I opened a file of old un-need paper work and found the certificate on the top.
So I will also not mention that it was ever missing

we have the necessary photos so we need to go through online and see if we can get new ones

I expect problems!

I look after all the important paperwork, admin etc. in our house. It's essential because #1 I know where everything is and #2 it actually gets done! The one item I don't/am not allowed to look after is Mrs P's passport............."we" don't currently know where it is...........and "No, I haven't seen your passport." 🤣

If you find it's a struggle to do the renewal Max Spielmann photo shops have a renewal service which includes the photography, document check and submission etc. Apparently their service gets a faster response than individual applications.

Barnet,
Good morning all.

It's cool and cloudy outside at the moment.
Our daughter has invited herself to dinner tomorrow, so I need to go to the shops for some supplies. We need some fresh fruit and vegetables anyway.
It gives me an excuse for a bimble on the bike and maybe a couple of pints in the Mitre at lunchtime.

Good day. Grey and bland today and that's just the weather. Today offers much excitement. I have to pick up some solid fuel from the coal merchant. That's it.

Rovers are home. Sheff Utd 2nd, we are 4th. It's a must win game, not to catch Utd but to avoid being caught by teams below us. Big crowd expected, traffic after the game will be bad, it can take an hour to drive 5 miles home. So my LBS is 10 minutes walk from the ground, I'll park there as it's a much easier get away from there than the ground.

Can pick my Kinesis up at the same time. One of the free hub pawls had failed and apparently two others looked dodgy.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.

Is it just British passports they do or can they also do Irish passports as well.

It looks like the angry freckle the doctor zapped is getting ready to drop off, its been a week and a half since the doctor did it and its developing raised edges now and once I'm washed and dressed I'll have to put a plaster on it to stop me catching it. I've not had one done before and its been interesting watching it change since it was done.

My son is a Blades fan from his years of living there.

Right - passport stuff done and sent off yesterday
less complication than expected - just needed to send off my old passport for mine - and our marriage certificate for hers (as her name has changed since we got married!)

main complication was some burk riding to the Post Office without his wallet so having to come back and return later!!!

so - today
well - apparently it's my birthday - which is annoying - so we are going out for dinner with the grandkids (plus parents) so it has to be
a) Early as they eat at about 5 ish
b) has to be somewhere with a play area - and as it is winter that means a Wacky Warehouse thingy

I suspect I will be opening the last of the Christmas red wine when I get home!

Oh - and

got a present from the Premium Bonds!!!!

only £25 - but better than nothing!!

Enjoy the day, and remember you'll have all day tomorrow to think about today.

There once was a cyclist with class
Who thought weight savings made him go fast
He thought 'twould be neat
To get rid of the seat
But it was too big a pain in the ass.
