Boiler update. Lois our boiler lady turned up shortly before 10:00. She took the covers off and did her diagnostis. The spark ignition was shorting out on the holder. A quick clean up and adjustment and all was well.
Cost for a Saturday morning call out and rectification? She only wanted a fiver but I gave her £10 👍😎

Result for you but how on Earth would she make any money by charging £5?

I've been naughty I got a thread closed over on Cycling UK
Well I just told a few members the truth and they didn't like it.
Now I'll play the victim card.

Naughty numbnuts:ohmy::ohmy::ohmy:

Well - I was up early for me - awake by 7 and ot fed up and got up about 7:30

Really didn't have any enthusiasm for a ride but force my self to get about by about 10 - really wanted to go round the canals in spite of it probably being a bit wet
But when I got out I realised the wind was pretty strong and coming ina direction where I would be into a strong head win all the way home
So I changed and went to the airport instead
Went well - I always decide I don't like the airport ride but I always like it when I actually do it - I think it is because I used it every damn day during the first lockdown when I was terrified of catching 'the plague' and inadvertently killing my wife (she was on the shielding list)

Anyway - always like it when a plane lands or takes off while I am stopped there having a half time can

Anyway - feels nice to have a group that don;t moan when I share something that is insignificant - thanks

Oh my goodness. Endeavour was so dam good..
No spoilers!

I retired almost two years ago after the company I worked for promoted me into a position I didn’t want, the plant manger even warned them I’d pull the pin if they gave me the position. I tried it for a year and then walked as it wasn’t worth the stress. I had been the plant engineer and they wanted me to run their quality and environmental systems. Anyway now I take care of the house ( as Frau Fritz still works, she likes her job ) and work part time as a mechanic at the local Trek dealership. My spare time is spent riding or fixing up my garage full of bicycles and motorcycles.

Retirement is good. My wife teaches and is off during the summer so its time with her in the canoe or on the tandem when we’re not floating in the pool during the hot hours of the day.

Morning all :hello:

Managed a longer sleep last night - starting to get back into some sort of routine now.
More unpacking this morning (I can see this going on for months!) and then we're off to Minehead for some shopping.
Hellish windy here, but not as bad as North Devon. We have 46 mph and it's going up to 58 mph back there.

Good morning. Wet, very windy and mild. Feel much better today after the last couple being pretty rubbish, slept well and feel rested. Today I'm heading over to Todmorden to a u3a meeting. This is a six monthly thing when the chair and treasurer from six local u3as meet to discuss any issues of concern, swap experience, knowledge etc. Each u3a takes a turn at being host, today it's Todmorden. Next task is to find somewhere to have lunch enroute.

That is about it really. I'll try to find something exciting and interesting to tell you all about later. Oh, yes I do have to get my Garmin watch to talk to my phone, recently they seem to have fallen out with each other. Not said a word in weeks!!

:hello:
