:hello: Good morning folks, crap nights sleep, or rather lack of it, I was downstairs taking pain killers at five am, sore hips. Yesterdays dentist visit will be followed up at the end of next month, he found three old fillings that need replacing. I managed fix the bed myself. Yoga this morning.

Been a while since I checked in here…..tardy of me!
We have escaped the damp and grey…on a train adventure around Europe 🤪
Just about managed to escape strike-torn France (several last minute changes to our original plans), currently in sunny and warm Figueres, Spain. Might hit 20 deg today ☀️
A day of Dali coming up 👍

Barnet,
Good morning all.
Another cloudy and damp day here.
My friend called me yesterday evening asking me if I could be a supersub for the quiz team he is in. They needed another member for tonight. So I'm off down to Kings Cross this evening.

Good day. Grey, drizzle and very windy, probably 20+ mph judging by the way the trees are moving around. I was suddenly overcome by sleep about 3.45 and didn't wake till 8.15. This is good.

Feeling surprisingly chipper so I will attack the weekly domestics with gusto, pop up to the weekly u3a coffee morning and do a supermarket run. That should free up Thursday and Friday for cycling as the forecast suggests a 50/50 chance to get out.

I need to take the mudguards off my Kinesis and swap the tyres for my Schwalbe G-ones so she's ready for the gravel riding season.

I have toast, mamarlade (what a strange word) and coffee so all is good.

The only blight in my life is an earwom, In the Navy, I blame @dave r for his post.

Just popped up in my FB feed. Sound advice.

Right - I'm up and sort of awake

Which is a surprise as we were ambushed by a pub quiz last night
Just went out for dinner in a local pub/restaurany only to discover it was quiz night

so we decided to stay
worryingly the quiz master remembered us from last time we were there - something about sex position questions!!!!!

Anyway we did pretty well - 5th out of 15
until they had a music round
half of the music clips I had never heard before - ever
never mind the actual 'artist'
if they do it again with 'proper' music we might do better
anyway - ended up about 10th - so at least there were a few that were worse than us!!!

Left the car at the pub because ...............
Just about to head up there on my bike and pick it up

Fortunately I was 15 and didn't have a mortgage. I was though at the IOW to see The Bonzos, Who, Free, Moody Blues and the incomparable Bob Dylan.

Got the initial tidying done and now a quick relax before heading out to the coffee morning. I kinda wish 1969 hadn't come up in our chat. Set me thinking - which is why I popped back in here. Memories. What days and years we have lived through. Free education, reasonably full employment (I only had 6 months unemployed in my life), sensible house prices, newfound freedoms, bit of rebellion (how can kids rebel these days when their folks have done it all?), a pension, healthy (most of the time) and some of the greatest rock 'n' roll ever!!!!! I've been very lucky and have only one regret.............I didn't have the balls to travel when I was young.

As the great Pete Townshend put it.......hope I die before I get old.
