“Worked” at the bike shop today. The lead mechanic was whining about the huge stress he endures working on repairs... I just quietly go about my business and think about how he would deal with a customer, like McDonnell Douglas or Chrysler, phoning him at home on the weekend.

Have I mentioned how much I don’t miss work, currently my biggest decisions are which bike to ride to work.

Sorry, not sure I get this?

Good morning. It is raining.........a lot. I had planned to go out with the club. Binned that when I heard the pitter patter machine gunfire of raindrops on our windows. I have had the most extraordinary amount of sleep in the last 15 hours. Got home after our walk yesterday and decided to have a snooze which became 2½ hours deep sleep in bed till 6.00pm! Went to bed at 10.00pm and slept till 5.30am. Really feeling quite chipper this morning.

So today? Well it's very wet so all outside activity is cancelled. I will find indoor stuff to do. Not sure what but there must be something which needs doing. I won't be asking Mrs P, that would make it a very busy day. Then we have the footie at 5.30pm, hmmmmm????? PNE v Rovers. HUGE game. What do we know about this?
  • Our seats are in row three. We will get wet
  • Traffic will be horrendous
  • The result could well determine our season
  • The result WILL determine the size of my whisky glass around 8.00pm
  • I am nervous and excited
That's about it really. Wish us luck. :hello:

While I'm here on a very, very serious note I feel it's OK to share this now. Three weeks ago today a rider on our Saturday Club Ride collapsed and died from a massive heart attack. No warning, just collapsed. He wasn't a club member but riding as a guest prior to joining. I didn't know him but have friends who did and who were on the ride, they were deeply affected by the incident. Everyone says he was a great guy and would have fitted in well with the club. At 58, he leaves a young wife and family. Very sad and a reminder to us all we should enjoy every minute as none of us know what is around the corner.

Morning all.. This is a bit early for me these days but we have a open meeting ( three races open to sailors from other clubs ) to day at the sailing club and I have volunteered to do rescue duty all day ( mrs exlaser is sailing ). So we need to be at the club for nine which is over a hour earlier than normal .
Hopefully it will be good day with enough wind and plenty of visitors.
Wish us luck, especially mrs exlaser 😀.
Have a great day everyone.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
