I'm feeling very happy but I've also done something I've never done before. It's been so cold and wet I've done nothing on the allotment. Not a seed sown and it was starting to get me down. I bought tomato, courgette and sweet pea plants earlier in the week and then today wandered into B&Q to see they had a fresh delivery of veg plants. Everything I needed to get the allotment going and very, very good quality.

I'm delighted. I've gone from almost completely lost interest to being planted up and ready to go!! Over the weekend I'll get on with sowing lettuce etc. for later.

Cut my first asparagus spear of the year.

This was on the wall of one of the quayside pubs we visited during yesterdays outing to Weymouth. I thought it quite poignant and wondered how her life panned out.

Our local riverside walk is lined with trees. Must be at least a couple of hundred initials and dates carved into them, some going back at least 40 years. I often wonder if the couples are still together and even if some are still alive.

Good day and looking as though it will be. Clear blue sky with light cloud. Heading out with a couple of buddies this morning, we plan to join the club ride and see how that pans out. If it's in full rip your legs off mode we wil probably drop off.........and then roll into the cafe about two minutes after the group. 😅

Later I have to make a cake for the Great Village Bake Off, open up the club bar and help with bunting. We're having a village picnic tomorrow, more a celebration of our little community than anything. 🤞 for weather. My cake will be banana loaf, I have ripe bananas and it's the only cake I can reliably do........I'm only baking to make up the numbers.

Interested to see night temperatures are forecast at 8-10⁰ for the coming week. Night temperature is very important, as much if not more, as day temperature to plant growth. I think I may have stumbled into getting my allotment bang on this year..........just as well as I've joined an allotment group in which we visit each other's patch........geez how old am I getting 😀

Good morning all.
Just back from a short walk.....definitely not a Mo type walk but the best I have done for months.
Thought I might see the foxes but no sign of them.

You’ve beat me to it today. I was about to get up just after 5 when I heard the rain battering down so lay on a bit longer. Just a fine drizzle now but very murky and cloudy. Mild though so I have finally switched the hall storage heater off.

My feet have been a bit sore last few days so I might just have a shorter walk this morning.

Good morning, the rain has returned. I'm off to run Poole parkrun now later, a friend is running his 500th today and I wanted to cheer him on. While waiting for the coffee to brew I was looking at the flyer listing the acts at this years Camp Bestival. I see Mr Motivator is still doing his thing, he must be getting on a bit( as are we all )

We only have a junior one in Crieff. Nearest adult one is in Perth.
