Aren't the Isles full of incest, alcoholics and religious zealots?
You've sold me! When do I move?

Aye, alcoholism can be a problem, but is also that way on parts of mainland Scotland.

Drugs are a minor problem on Shetland. Less so on Orkney, although Orcadians are less accepting of outsiders.

I fancy the western Isles this time around. I speak a little gaelic - with a bad accent, apparently! - and can play mandolin and the Irish bouzouki so fancy getting involved in the folk music scene out there.

Afternoon all . Just been catching up with the news of here over the weekend as I havnt checked in for a while.
I think I had some kind of a virus over the weekend , started suddenly Saturday morning . I bent down and suddenly everything started spinning and I felt very sick ( and before anyone asks , no I hadn’t had to much to drink 😂) It lasted most of the weekend , just starting to feel better now but still feel a little ‘ off ‘ . Don’t know what caused it but I definitely don’t want it again . You know it must have bad as I didn’t go sailing or drink wine all weekend 😂😀.

Enjoy the rest of the day folks

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Mr WD and eldest grandson have been cutting a couple of trees down by the pond to let some more light into it.

I took a walk up and snapped a couple of photos

The top 2 photos are of the big field behind the pond. The 3rd photo down is of the walk from the pond into the big field abd the bottom photo is of the stream that runs down the side and across the front of my property. Can't see much of the steam as its in shade.

Have any of you any experience of MSC Cruises ? Her Indoors is going with her two friends in about a fortnight. I looked up the reviews on Trustpilot and was shocked!. They are vile . Her friend booked it and none of them checked it out beforehand. I am usually glad to have whole the place to myself and the dogs when she goes on her excursions but not this time. Don't know whether to advise her not to go or say nothing and hope for the best.

Seriously though, each to their own and we love that part of the world but...

... for us, it is too remote and cut-off to be viable as a permanent location, especially in our advancing years.

Why do you think he wants to move there? ;)

Edit: I see @Drago beat me to it ;)

My Good Lady has no wish to move again, but if we did it would not be somewhere remote, I quite like the idea of living somewhere out in the sticks but at our age, we're both in our seventies, it would be a bad idea, we need to be somewhere where we have access to everything.

Good thinking. We 'nearly' moved to Anglesey and even that caused us to rethink.
