Good day. Grey, breezy and cooler this morning and forecast for 14⁰ by lunchtime - makes sense really. You spend a lovely warm weekend in shorts and T-shirt doing all the stuff which needs doing knowing the ride on Monday will be great, nothing but bibs and a jersey........now it's looking like leg and arm warmers! #disgruntled#

What news? Well I've ironed again. Found more clothes late yesterday which needed washing, apart from what we are wearing everything is clean!!

The microwave caught fire this morning. We have talked of getting a new one, seems pretty essential now. I noticed the inside was a bit mucky, Mrs P reheated her lasagne in it last night and forgot to cover the food, tomato sauce spattered around. I popped a cup of water in, wacked it on full for three minutes to generate steam. Standard stuff. I pottered a few feet away, suddenly the sound the microwave makes changed, glanced across to see flames inside!!!!!!! With great presence of mind I pulled the plug out, didn't open the door, so lack of oxygen extinguished the flames immediately. Tricky one. Kitchen windows are wide open.

@Dave7 keep talking to us. Say anything.

The women's involvement wasn't as great as being shown. Hartley was just a thief, who wasn't very welcome in Heptonstall. Due mainly to his thieving.
Biggest disappointment is the modern English being used, neither period nor local.
They're supposed to be struggling to buy food, but they're out in their Sunday best.

Worse than "Gentleman Jack" in my opinion. If they have, as is being said, done a first series, then William Deighton won't stand out as much, from anyone else around him.

Cheers for the review . I wasn’t going to give it a go but I will now as I loved ‘ Gentlejack Jack’ as did the other members of my household.
Isn’t it great people are all so different so can enjoy different things 😀

I loved it too. I just watch things without over analysing them and look on it as entertainment.

Cool and overcast here. Just a gentle saunter round the riverside trail as I am in need of an easy day after my run and cycle at the weekend.

Muesli and cuppa now then I need to wander round to the supermarket for a few things.

Morning all . Nothing planed for this morning but as mrs exlaser always has Monday offf I am sure things like , coffee, cake, cafe and a brisk walk will take place at sometime today. Not necessarily in that order though 😀.
I have to report that yesterday’s sailing went just as expected, terrible. Luckily there was a mix up with the race program/ machine so we sailed a one off race so I could retire after one lap with a clear conscience and watch my friends enjoy/ get increasing frustrated by the conditions. 😂.
No such luck this Wednesday evening as I have to sail to the end to qualify for the series. The forecast is for these wind conditions to continue for another week. 😕. I am secretly praying for a return to westerly winds but I have to say this current weather pattern is great ( I do love the sun on my back) just not when I want to sail 😀.

A friend of ours just popped in to say hello, her cars in the garage down the road, I struggle to get my head round the fact that her and my Good Lady have been friends for over 70 years, amazing.

Amazing. I know one or two school mates but only really through Facebook. Haven't really made a point of keeping close to any of them, but I never have been good at making and keeping friends. Probably because I am so happy with my own company most of the time.
