Yes - the canal is called the St Helens canal or the Sankey canal - originally went from ST Helens to Fiddlers Ferry - then extended to Widnes some time later
apparently - I wasn't there to see it at the time!

Wa quite pretty at the Widnes - boats floating on the water, ducks, geese, men messing about with boats - all that stuff
now just an empty patch of mud with sad looking boats resting on the dried out mud and leaning at all angles

Our son is living in Warrington and often walks or cycles through Sankey Valley, sounds a pretty place, shame about the rest of the canal, I think theres a few about like that.

The thermometer on the side of my shed says 34 degrees so far too hot to go for a ride. Maybe tomorrow or the day after.

Bloody hell it's hot. 23 deg here and inside it's 27 deg.

I presume it’s Health and Safety, but it’s a shame for those who don’t have motorised transport.

They're uncertain on what they can do to me now. Waste carriers licence has been granted, and told that I have no need to register the trailers.

I am currently banned from cycling due to broken arm
as mentioned before

getting better now - only a crack at the top end

anyway - we are off on hols for a few days on Tuesday so there will be no riding then
hopefully I can persuade SWMBO that I am OK to ride after we get back

I've just done walking again, half way round big mistake should have taken a drink with me 28.5c now

We went for a ride. Two tandems with a pub and an ice cream farm on the route. Worked well but would have been too hot without the stiff breeze

Have I mentioned the tennis? The tennis season has started. The French Open. God I hate tennis. Wall to wall tennis every evening this week.

Excellent afternoon at RHS Bridgwater. We booked a one hour tour with one of the volunteers. She was very good, very informative.

Just finished watching Bruce Springsteen in concert - Barcelona 28.04.23.

Stunning! 3 hours long which is amazing. At 73 years old he still has a great voice and amazing energy. What a show!

No wonder @PaulSB loved it.

Just off to bed, music on in bedroom etc.
