Yes - the canal is called the St Helens canal or the Sankey canal - originally went from ST Helens to Fiddlers Ferry - then extended to Widnes some time later
apparently - I wasn't there to see it at the time!

Wa quite pretty at the Widnes - boats floating on the water, ducks, geese, men messing about with boats - all that stuff
now just an empty patch of mud with sad looking boats resting on the dried out mud and leaning at all angles

Our son is living in Warrington and often walks or cycles through Sankey Valley, sounds a pretty place, shame about the rest of the canal, I think theres a few about like that.

Getting old but not past it

The thermometer on the side of my shed says 34 degrees so far too hot to go for a ride. Maybe tomorrow or the day after.

Bloody hell it's hot. 23 deg here and inside it's 27 deg.

We went for a ride. Two tandems with a pub and an ice cream farm on the route. Worked well but would have been too hot without the stiff breeze
