68, & my GP says I will officially be old at 70!

Well, decided I couldn't sit in all day so stuck my waterproof jacket and over trousers on and a pair of gore tex trail shoes and got out. Thought it was only going to be the ladies that had braved it as I met two lady dog walkers and a runner but met a guy just setting off for a run nearer home. I see him most mornings. Obviously a dedicated runner that gets out most days.

The river isn't too bad yet but this is just with 10 hours of rain. If the forecast is correct, we could have another 36.

I just can't do walking in the rain ie setting off when it is raining - a horrible experience.

Bad enough when you get caught out in it unexpectedly.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
The sun has broken through now. :sun:

Mo.....I have a serious complaint.
I don't want to put you on 'ignore' so could you sort this out asap please.
The golf at St Andrews has been cancelled due to YOUR weather.
This has really affected my Saturday tv viewing.
Please advise what you intend to do about this situation.

It’s to be slightly better tomorrow

I found cycling on Eurosport so snuggled under the duvet this afternoon and watched that. Tour of Lombardy. Quite good and lovely scenery. I won’t say who won in case anyone will watch on catch up, but it was one of the usual suspects.

A thread specially for 'persons of leisure' and independent means, or those with aspirations.
How do you while away those lazy days?
How do you cope financially?
When did you retire?
Is retirement what you expected?
How long did you take to adjust?
Etc.

I've been retired for ten years, and it's better than I expected. I've had different jobs: Bricklayer for several years. Welder for four years. Carpenter for three or four years. Went to school for electrical, got my state license and ran my own contracting business. What I'm saying is: it's been a tough life and I've loved every moment of retirement. I adjusted, immediately. Better off financially than I ever was in my working years, even putting money away, but what will I do with it other than leave it for my daughters, and they don't need it. At 77 years of age, every day is a bonus. Oh, and the naps. Can't forget the naps.

Moved from the UK in 1978 to Delaware and then to Florida as soon as I retired. I ride my fat bike in the morning, and a different bike in the evening. I love working on bikes and customizing them to suit me.
